Charlotte, NC. Home base, but not the only place.
I grew up in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte, near Uptown Charlotte. For those familiar, it is really nice (and hip) now, but it wasn’t always so, at least not the part I lived in – over closer to Central Avenue than the hospital.
It has been amazing to see that neighborhood transform, now one of the hottest areas in the city, with nearby breweries, yoga studios, fabulous restaurants, and interesting people to meet and see.
This kind of transformation is happening all over this wonder city. In NoDa, Plaza-Midwood, South End and beyond. These areas in particular are where short-term rentals do well as they are high demand, yet often still affordable at the entry level for investment.
As a native son, I know my way around Charlotte. Driving around lately though, there are places I just never knew existed, or that were off my radar for investment that I find intriguing. The entire West side of town comes to mind. Getting in early could be a viable strategy to take advantage not just of premium rents, but appreciation too.
Wherever your property is, doesn’t even have to be in Charlotte – I want to expand my own portfolio into the mountains and down to the sea, even internationally, but wherever it is, I can analyze it for viability. I have the data for every market, so if you want to go grab a cup of coffee and talk about how much Charlotte has changed, let’s do that, but don’t be shy if you’ve got an awesome cabana in Brazil you want to talk about over Skype or Zoom.
